Shirley passed away Friday afternoon, September 13, 2019. She had been battling GuillainBarr syndrome for 3 months. She passed peacefully with her son, Duncan Saxon and her daughters, Donna Saxon and Kelly Addington by her side, along with grandchildren, David Saxon and Heather Griffin. Right before she passed, she opened her eyes and looked around the bed at each of us, then closed her eyes and drifted away. Davids wife, Lesley was there with the couples sons, Ayden and Benjamin and Heathers husband Rick Griffin was close by. Their son, Roman was in school. Also, Heather and Davids mom, Kelly Lynn Saxon was there to support us. Shirley hated funerals, so there will be no service. She prearranged to be cremated. She was preceded in death by her entire family: Parents, Luther and Mary Laird, a sister who died as a child, and 4 brothers. Her daughter, Louise passed in 2017.
