Sherry Ann Newton, 82, passed away January 29, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born June 7, 1942 in Salem, IL to Cecil and Leona (Testerman) Hammer. She graduated from Southeast H.S. in 1960. On May 2, 1962, she married the love of her life, Gorman Newton.

Sherry enjoyed a career as a billing systems manager with Integris Baptist Hospital and retired after 50 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed traveling and adored her many rescue cats and dogs.

Sherry was preceded in death by her son, Barry Newton; and both sisters, Geraldine Chamberlain and Linda Toumbs. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gorman; son, Gorman "Sonny" Newton; daughter, Lori Sholer and husband Michael; and granddaughter, Hollie Harris.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Monday, 9am-8pm with family present from 4-6pm. Funeral services are Tuesday, February 4, 10:00am, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with Dr. Jim Hill officiating.
