Obituary

Sharon slipped away into the arms of the Lord on June 21, 2011 after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was born to the late Red and Mavis Ruth Sims on January 28, 1941 in Oklahoma City. Sharon is survived by her husband John Luton, son Jeffrey Luton and wife Christine, daughter Cynthia Taylor, grandchildren Heather and Matthew Taylor and Gillian Luton, all of Edmond. She is also survived by her brothers Larry Sims of Texarkana, TX and Bruce Sims, and sister LuAnn Cravens of Oklahoma City. Educated at Northwest Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma, she further became an active volunteer in the Oklahoma City Orchestra League, Oklahoma City Woodcarvers Club and a member of the Acorn Book Club. She was noted for her organizational skills that were appreciated by all. Sharon was a very devoted mother, wife, daughter and grandmother who loved family gatherings, cooking, painting, reading and traveling. We will all miss her smiles and encouraging words, but she will always be a part of each of us. As long as we live, they, too, shall live, for they are a part of us as we remember them. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oklahoma City Orchestra League, 50 Penn Place, Suite K110, 11900 NW Expressway, OKC, OK 73118 or to a charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held Friday, June 24, 1:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. To share a memory or condolence, visit www.mercer-adams.com
