Sharon Ruth Jones passed away peacefully at age 77 on December 19, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born on April 23, 1947, in Oklahoma City to Daniel Pryor Jones, Sr. and Elsie Geraldine (Shelton) Jones. She graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1965, and also obtained an associate's degree in business administration while living in Texas.

Sharon's mother, Elsie Jones, founded and opened LuShar's School of Dance with Sharon and her sister, Luanah (Jones) Courtney, teaching ballet, tap, jazz, baton, pointe technique, and modern dance. The studio's strong reputation for over 20 years allowed expansion to studios in Moore, Yukon, and a second OKC location. Many children learned to dance from these talented sisters.

After dancing, Sharon was successful in many other positions. She was a flight attendant for Braniff and Northwestern Airlines, and a sales associate for Pitney Bowes. She was also in administration for the Veteran's Administration and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Sharon had a talent for painting and enjoyed capturing the landscapes of Hawaii while residing there for a summer. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and studying genealogy. She also actively invested in rental properties.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Daniel P. Jones Jr., Robert S. Jones and Luanah (Jones) Courtney. She is survived by five nephews; three nieces; and many great and great-great nephews and nieces. Sharon became the loved matriarch of the family and will be missed by all of us.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 11:00am, at Mercer Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury Ave., Bethany, OK. Informal viewing begins one hour prior to the service at 10:00am. Interment will follow at 1:00pm in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
