Sharon Shanin Edwards, our beloved Mimi, 71, passed away March 4, 2009 peacefully at her home. She was born Oct. 18, 1937 in St. Joseph, MO. She moved to Oklahoma to attend OU, and graduated with an MA in Education. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Helen Shanin of St. Joseph, MO. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Lee and husband Roger of OKC; son Barry Edwards and wife Jennifer of Minneapolis, MN; granddaughter Tyler Crawford of OKC; grandson Shanin Crawford of OKC; grandson Jacob Edwards of Minneapolis, MN; special friend Tommy McKown of OKC; numerous friends; and her buddy Sam, her poodle. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation or In His Name Ministries. Viewing will be Friday and Saturday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be held Sunday, March 8, 3:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in St. Joseph, MO.
