Sharon Kay Clark passed from this life to be with our Lord and Savior on August 13, 2010 after battling complications from a recent surgery. She was 65 years old. Funeral Services will be held at 10am, Tues. Aug. 17, 2010, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with a Private Family Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Sharon had a strong character and often said "Be the kind of person who does the right thing, even when no one is looking", and "In order to have a friend, you've got to be one first." She modeled these two principles throughout her life. She was born on November 3, 1944 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to L. Warren and Mary Frances (Carey) Murray. She graduated from Putnam City in 1962 and attended Oklahoma City University from 1962-1964. While attending OCU she met the love of her life, John Allen Clark and they were married in 1965 making their home in Oklahoma City. In June of 1969, she gave birth to their daughter Carrie Jane. In January of 2010, they celebrated 45 wonderful years together. Over the years she made many friends with near and dear neighbors, and at school and work. She worked at General Electric Credit Corporation, with her father at Materials Consulting and Testing Company, as co-founder and General Manager of Coffee Classics, Inc., and at the Oklahoma City County Health Department. She was very creative, sewing clothing for John and Carrie, knitting blankets, writing fabulous poems, and drawing cute or funny pictures on holiday envelopes. She loved holding babies, a rainy day, reading books and paddling around in the pool. Not only did she love her family and friends, she and John also took the initiative to clean and sweep a nearby neighborhood street, showing care for community and where they lived and hoping to instill that in other people by example. She was preceded in death by her parents, and she goes on in advance of husband John, daughter Carrie, sister Elma Jean (Murray) Best of Crescent, brothers-in-law Robert and Keith, sister-in-law Carol and a whole host of loving and much loved nieces and nephews.
