Shantel Dawn
Tillett
Sep 15, 1976 — Aug 26, 2024
Shantel Dawn Tillett passed away peacefully at her home with her husband, Brian Tillett, and wonderful friends and family by her side on August 26, 2024. She was born in Oklahoma City on September 15, 1976 to Tommy Newman and Holley (Laye) Newman.
Shantel graduated in 1995 from Westmoore High School. Before her passing, she worked for Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma. She also was a business owner of a ladies' clothing line called "Trixies," named after one of her beloved Pomeranians. She loved dogs of any kind and leaves behind her Vas and Freya.
Shantel was preceded in death by her mother, Holley Moore; grandmothers, Gerri Laye and Lillie Newman; and her beloved late husband, Louis Gonzales.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Tillett; her mom and dad, Tommy and Carol Newman; two brothers, Tommy Gene Newman and Michael Stephens; two nieces, Kennedy Baker and Mahala Townley and husband, Nathan; two grand-nieces, Hazel and Adeline; and her Aunt Lou and Uncle Jim Jensen; along with many aunts, cousins, and friends.
Shantel leaves many friends, but especially her best friend from school, Jaime Olguin (husband, Edell). She leaves behind her girlfriends who never left her side during these last few weeks, Jennifer Gray, Vanessa Metzger, and Rachel Bolerjack, and many more sweet friends and family. She was the most loving daughter, wife, sister, cousin and girlfriend. She will be dearly missed by many with her beautiful smile. But most importantly, she was a believer and found a home with her church group.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 30, 10:00 a.m. at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. The service was livestreamed and may be viewed on this obituary page.
