Obituary

Shanan Brye McCallister Hull, 50, of Oklahoma City, passed away on January 13, 2022, after fighting a brave battle with cancer. Shanan was born on July 10, 1971, to Jack and Merradyth McCallister in Missoula Montana. When Shanan was a child her family moved to Okmulgee where they lived for 10 years before moving to the Oklahoma City Metro area. Shanan graduated from Piedmont High School in 1989 after spending the summer of 1988 in Japan as a foreign exchange student. Shanan attended college at Brigham Young University Idaho from 1990-1991 and graduated from Beauty School in 2002. Shanan has impacted the lives of everyone she has touched, but none more than her family. Shanan and Richard Hull were married on August 8th, 2008 on a cliff overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Their children Madison, Jaclynn, Blake, Jesse, Jake, and Jara will carry on Shanans legacy of making everyone feel loved, cared for, and fed. Their grandchildren Jaxon, Jaycee, Whitlee, Tynlee, Brixlee, and all future grandchildren will learn how to find the fun in everything they do and always look for an adventure the way Shanan would! Shanan is one of ten children and will be greatly missed by her siblings Tarah, Scott, Amber, Brechan, Brittany, Barrett, Tennille, McKenzie, and Shay, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shanans laugh and ability to make everything fun will be continued at future family gatherings, keeping her memory alive and close to their hearts. Shanan saw everything in life as a chance to learn a new skill and find a new opportunity. She was a co-owner at Allens Grill, worked in accounting at OETA and KOCO, a real estate developer, entrepreneur, and co-owner at RSH Properties. But she was most proud of owning and operating 36th Studio West Salon (formerly known as Hair Saloon) and 36 Square Event Center with her sister and business partner Brittany. Shanan was like ice cream, and everyone loves ice cream. Shanan never knew a stranger, she made friends wherever she went. If you knew Shanan, she changed your life. She knew how to point you in the right direction when you were lost. Shanan was the best problem solver; she was excellent at seeing both sides of a situation and finding a positive, new perspective. Shanan earned the nickname "Shananigans" for her years of practical jokes and crazy escapades. Shanan could find the fun in any situation and turn any problem or canceled plan into a new adventure. Shanan gave people ideas, she gave them the courage to dream big and then told them how to get out there and make those dreams come true! Shanan changed peoples lives and made them think they did it all themselves. By knowing her, weve all been changed for good. A celebration of Shanans life will be held on Monday, January 17th at 2:00 pm at Bethany First Nazarene Church-Atrium, 6789 NW 39th Expy, Bethany, OK 73008. The reception for family and friends will be held directly after at 36th Square Event Center 6638 NW 36th, Bethany, OK 73008.
