Saralyn
Winn
Mar 31, 1930 — Mar 13, 2024
Saralyn Winn, 93, went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in her heavenly home on March 13, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born March 31, 1930, to A.L. and Hazel Teaff in Abilene, TX. Her father was a preacher, so her childhood was spent in small towns throughout Texas. She loved to listen to her father preach, and that helped form the foundation of her faith in Christ. She was married to Blake Winn on May 11, 1956, in Ft. Worth, TX. Saralyn attended Hardin-Simmons University and later graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Saralyn attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and later received her Masters in Public Health from the University of Oklahoma. Saralyn worked as a nurse in several hospitals, and then taught nursing at Oklahoma Baptist University for 15 years. She then served as the Director of Nursing for the Oklahoma City/County Health Department where she retired after 13 years.
Saralyn passionately studied the Bible and read it in its entirety every year for over 30 years. She faithfully taught Sunday School her entire adult life. She loved her church and attended at every opportunity, including the Sunday before she was hospitalized. Saralyn loved to travel, and attended graduations, weddings, and births of her grandchildren as often as she could. She went on several Caribbean cruises with friends. Her trip of a lifetime was to the Holy Land where she toured the land of her Savior. Saralyn was a voracious reader, and stayed current with technology, using email and social media to keep up with her family and friends. She loved playing dominos and attending game night with her Sunday School class.
Saralyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 22 years, and many cousins.
She is survived by her children; Patricia Angel (Chris), Michael Winn (Kara), Sam Winn (Patti), Carla Brown (Terry), grandchildren; Kevan Angel, Courtney Richert (Brad), Hailey Melton (Ryan), Katrina Winn, Michael Winn, Jr. (Juliann), Robert Winn (Diana), Angelina Winn, Hannah McGrath (Shane), Jacob Winn (Melissa), Parker Brown, Tanner Brown, Jordan Brown, great-grandchildren; Abigail Angel, Noah Angel, Henry Richert, Annabelle Richert, Evelyn Richert, Molly Melton, Mia Melton, Aaron (Dane) Winn, Patrick Winn, James Winn, Emma Winn, Mack McGrath, Caleb Winn, sister: LaLee Igo and brother A.L.
