Obituary

Sara Ann (Navarre) Walter was born March 3, 1927 and passed into eternal life July 23, 2012. The first of three daughters born to Hazel and Otto Navarre, she was born and raised in Independence, Kansas. She attended Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (Kansas State University) and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. Sara established her home in Oklahoma City (Warr Acres) in the early 1950's. She was married to Eugene "Arley" Walter and they had two children, Steven and Marsha, who have all preceded her in death. She worked as a hospital nutritionist at several hospitals including Deaconess and Parkview. Sara loved politics, the Boy Scouts, as she and her husband were avid leaders, family camping and genealogy. She loved dogs and the family had many pets over the years that were truly members of the family. She was also a member of the Putnam City United Methodist Church. She always had a smile and a good sense of humor. Sara was a resident of Warr Acres Nursing Center for the last few years where she was cared for by many kind and loving people. Recently she was blessed by the kind staff of Centennial Hospice. There will be visitation with the family present Wednesday, 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Graveside service and interment will be Thursday, July 26, 9:00am in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, OKC. Graveside Service Thursday, July 26, 2012 09:00 AM Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 8708 N.W.
