Sandra Kaye (Willems) Dorris passed gently into her savior's arms on July 20, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sandra was born October 12, 1941 in Junction City, KS to Leonard and Lila Willems. She graduated in 1959 from Enid High School and attended Bethany Nazarene College (SNU) where she met and married her best friend and sweetheart Curtis Dorris on December 11, 1960. Sandra was a gifted woman who loved to entertain and graciously opened her home to friends, family, and Curtis' basketball players through the years. She also used her talents as a church pianist and organist, as the superintendent's secretary at Bethany Public Schools, as a real estate broker, and as an administrative assistant in the Wisdom of the Word office at Bethany First Nazarene Church. Sandra loved to sing, cook, play Rook at Willems family gatherings, and play the piano. She also especially enjoyed watching OU football games with her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Above all, Sandra loved to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren and made holidays and family get-togethers extraordinary events. Sandra is survived by her husband Curtis of Bethany; daughter Kim and husband Paul Huffman of Oklahoma City, son Derek Dorris and wife Tiffany of Bethany; brother Randy Willems and wife Brenda of Plano, TX, brother Terry Willems and wife Theresa of Breckenridge, OK; grandchildren Jeremy and Laura Huffman; Adam and Shari Huffman; Grace, Megan, and Landon Huffman; Molly and Ava Dorris; great-grandchildren Mattie and Cade Huffman; and Abbey Huffman. Sandra was preceded in death by father Leonard Willems, mother Lila Willems, brother James Willems, and granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Huffman. The family would like to express deep gratitude to the Mercy Hospital oncology nursing staff, Mercy Hospice, Harold and Marge Dorris, Roy and Rebecca Dorris, and a special angel, Mark Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the SNU Women's Basketball Program. Funeral services will be Monday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethany First Nazarene Church with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
