Sammie W. Porter, 85, passed away peacefully at Conroe Regional Hospital in Conroe, Texas. He was surrounded by his wife of 64 yrs, Marjorie M. Porter, and his daughters, Diana Porter of Lewisville, TX and Mary Burum of Huntsville, TX. Sammie served his country as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy. He then went on to the oil field working for Conoco Oil Company for 35 years. He retired to enjoy his favorite hobbies - golf and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie M. Porter; his sister, Wilda MCDonald; 2 daughters, Diana Porter and Mary Burum and her husband Darrell; two grandsons, Brandon Burum and wife Christy, Vance Burum and wife Tanya; two great-granddaughters, Allee and Sidney Burum; and, 2 great-grandsons, Blaise and Krystian Burum. Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 10am in the chapel at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany, OK with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery.
