Ruth Stark Parmenter died December 4, 2009 in Oklahoma City. She was born August 14, 1954 to Willard and Talitha (Ott) Stark in Enid, Oklahoma. After graduating from Valparaiso University with a degree in Communications & Human Relations, she worked as a Disability Case Examiner for the Social Security Administration for 20 years. She had abundant courage to cope with the numerous physical challenges and struggles since childhood and a stroke at age 43. Her humor, strength, and enthusiasm provided inspiration to many. She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Stark. Ruth is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mark, daughter Emily of Madison, WI, mother Talitha, brother David Stark (Monique) of NYC, sisters Rachel Inch (Les) of Chicago, Lois Stark (Dave MacMillan) of Salem, OR, and Rebekah Johnson (Jeff) of Hattiesburg, MS. She is the beloved aunt of Ben, Alexa, Zach, Martin, Jonas and Sophie. Visitation is Dec 6 at Mercer Adams, 4-6 pm. Services are Mon, Dec 7 at 2 pm at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Bethany. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
