Ruth Jerlene (Kennedy) McMillan, age 99, was born September 5, 1909 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to John and Mary Kennedy. She grew up in Paoli and graduated from Paoli High School. She married James Douglas McMillan, her childhood sweetheart. They had 49 wonderful years together. They lived in Harrah and Maysville. Ruth lived in Meeker and Yukon, Oklahoma after his death in 1980. They had four children: James M. McMillan (Norma), Betty Banks (Troyt), Donna Combs (Don), and Mary Landers (John). Ruths home was always filled with love. There were 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas; their son, James M. (Jimmy); and great grandson, Cole Landers. Memorials may be made to the Meeker United Methodist Church, Meeker, Oklahoma or to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff and friends at Ranchwood Nursing Center, Yukon, for their love and care. Funeral services will be Friday, December 18, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma with interment at Harrah Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, Oklahoma at 12:00 p.m.
