Ruth Lippoldt was born in New York City in 1925 to Henry and Esther Weltewitz. She had one sibling, an older sister, Eleanor. Most of Ruth's childhood was spent in Salt Lake City, Utah. She met her husband, Richard Fremont Lippoldt, on a blind date while attending college in Southern California. They married three months later, as Richard had his Naval orders and was due to ship out. They were married for 42 years, and had five daughters; Jill, Leslie, Beth, Jamie, and Kelley. The family mourned Jamie's passing in October of 2006. Ruth and Richard raised their children in St Paul, MN and in Ponca City, OK. After Richard's passing in 1986, Ruth spent her retirement in Loveland CO, Evergreen, CO, and in Sun City West, AZ. She returned to Oklahoma in 2007 to be near family. Ruth has been a devoted Christian Scientist most of her life, and was very active in the church. Ruth has thirteen grandchildren and two great-grand-children with another due in December 2013. She very enthusiastically attended every family gathering and her grandchildren's athletic and school activities whenever possible. She loved to travel, and took many memorable trips to places like Hawaii, Alaska, New Zealand, and Europe. Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and her many close friends. She was a kind, loving, and very spirited woman who lived a rich and full life.
