Ruth was born August 31, 1935 and passed peacefully from this earth on December 26, 2018. Known for her love of words, Ruth was a creative writing/communications professor at Southern Nazarene University and a published author. She is survived by her sons, Bill Vaughn (Danene) of Spokane, WA and Ron Vaughn (Kristine) of Norman, OK; her grandchildren, Ashley (Kenny), Katie, Kevin, Erika, Samuel and Joseph; and great-grandchild Bennett. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Wood and Elton Wood. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Kaul; her parents, S.L and Nora Wood; and brother, Lyman Wood.
