Obituary

Ruth "Jody" Sutter passed away February 25, 2026 in Mustang, Oklahoma. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 11, 1930. Jody married Richard "Dick" Sutter on December 19, 1948. Dick was her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, and they remained married until his death in 2018. Besides her husband, the biggest joys in her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Mimar".

Jody was preceded in death by her father, Joe McGuire; mother, Ruth A. McGuire; and stepmother, Laura McGuire.

Jody was cherished and will forever be in the loving memories and hearts of her family. She left behind her son, Richard Michael Sutter and wife, Ruth (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and her daughter, Sandra D'Ann Sutter Waterman and husband, Bruce (Mustang, Oklahoma). She will be remembered and cherished by her grandchildren, Matthew Waterman and wife, Kristy; Shelley Sutter Cline and husband, Devin; Luke Waterman and wife, Colleen; Jacob Waterman and wife, Kim; and six great-grandchildren, David Waterman, Henry Waterman, James Waterman, Clayton Waterman, Mason Waterman and Lincoln Waterman; sister, Sue Mobley and husband Gerald; and brother, John McGuire and wife, Suzette.

Jody was a homemaker for the majority of her life and was the consummate cook and baker. She was an elegant beauty and this shone brightly through her love for antiques, makeup, perfume, jewelry and clothing. She enjoyed attending all the sporting events of her son and eventually all her grandsons. She passed on her love for dance to her daughter and was the best "Dance Mom," often sewing her costumes by hand. She also loved attending her granddaughter's cheer and gymnastics events.

Jody was kind, generous, witty, and funny and always gave the best advice when needed. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. There is comfort in knowing that she is now at rest after an incredible 95 years of life, reunited with her loving husband once again, forever held in heaven "Always".
