Ruth Carolyn Brown, 87, went to be with the Lord January 15, 2014. She was born June 14, 1926 in Albion, IL to Alvin and Mary (Johnson) Womack. She retired from Horace Mann Insurance Co. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Brown, and brothers, Robert "Bob" Womack, Alvin D. Womack, and James "Jim" Womack. She is survived by brothers, Richard "Dick" Womack and wife Patricia, Wayne Womack and wife Mary, David Womack, John Womack and wife Linda, Paul Womack and wife Sharon; sister, Mary Null; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ruth loved to laugh and was very social. She was active in Western Oaks Church of the Nazarene for many years and at the time of her death was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. She will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm, with family present from 2-4pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Monday, January 20, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
