Obituary

Ruby Oleta Loch went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after a valiant and determined fight with cancer on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 1:40pm in the afternoon, with her loving family by her side in her home. Oleta was born on October 19, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to Elmo G. and Winnie L. Duncan who preceded her in death in 1983 and 1998 respectively. Oleta grew up in the Capital Hill area and completed high school in 1949. That same year, she married the true love of her life, Walter Loch, who preceded her in death in April, 2001, after 52 loving years of marriage. Oleta followed her husband from post to post while he was in the Air Force and they finally settled back in OKC in 1955. Oleta and her husband, Walter, were blessed with 2 children, Melissa Jane Loch, who preceded them in death as an infant in 1962, and Mark Loch, who they both dearly loved all of their lives. Oleta is survived by her son, Mark Loch and wife Jacque of OKC; grandchildren, Jana Taylor and husband Bryan of OKC, Kyle Teter and wife Stacey of Stillwater, OK; great-granddaughter Shelby Grace Taylor of OKC; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends who all meant the world to her. Oleta loved her Lord and her church, especially her Sunday school class at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Her Sunday school class was faithful to check on her condition, as well as to send her cards, pay her visits and telephone her weekly, if not more, during her illness. Oletas spiritual gift was truly hospitality as her home was always open to visitors and guests at any time and her family was most important to her. Oleta was one who lived her life with purpose and cause at all times. Her integrity and desire to assure people were taken care of and that their rights were not violated was a primary goal of Oletas at all times. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Reynolds and staff for providing compassionate and superior care to Oleta during her 7 year battle against cancer. During her last few weeks of life, several organizations and caregivers were instrumental in her being able to remain in her home and live out her last days with dignity. Special thanks goes out to Unity Home Health Care; the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice; Lisa Baker, hospice nurse; Stephanie Pooler, caregiver; Edith Means, caregiver; and Ann Simonton, caregiver. Oletas extended family members were always there supporting her and lifting her up, too. Oletas daughter-in-law, Jacque, was instrumental in her care during the last 3 months of life doing everything from cooking, to bathing, and taking care of all of Oletas personal needs. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm with the family receiving guests from 1-3pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, Bethany, OK. Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 23, 2011, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
