Ruby Louise Kendall, 93 of Syracuse, New York, formerly of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 12, 2010 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse with family by her side. She was born in Madill, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cushing High School in 1936 and became a beautician. She married her husband, Orville, in 1939, who preceded her in death in 2000. She and Orville lived in Ponca City where she owned her own business in the late 1970's until they retired when Ruby was 58 years old. At that time, they moved to Oklahoma City. She was a member of Western Oaks Nazarene Church in Oklahoma City for over 30 years. Ruby loved God, her husband and her family more than anything in the world and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Alta Nelson (Leon) of OKC and Karen Young (John) of Cicero, NY; four grandchildren, David Nelson (Pam) of Oklahoma City, Kristi Bunton (Jake) of North Syracuse, New York, Tammy Conaughty (Mike) of Yukon, Oklahoma and Kason Temple of Orlando, Florida; and her four beloved great-grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Nelson, Morgan and Reagan Bunton. A memorial service was held in Syracuse, New York in celebration of Ruby's life on August 16th. Viewing will be Friday, noon-9pm with the family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams, Bethany. Services will be Saturday, August 21, 2:00pm at Western Oaks Nazarene Church, Oklahoma City.
