Ruby Hayes, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2023 in her home in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born September 22, 1935 to James and Geneva Inez (Crawford) Patterson in Groom, Texas. She graduated from Groom High School and then went on to attend nursing school. She worked for Mercy cardiologists, Drs. Potts, Smith and Kerns for 40 years. Ruby married Kenneth Hayes on May 5, 1961. They enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage before his passing in April, 2001. Ruby is survived by her children, Ron King of Hereford, TX, James King of Oklahoma City, Donna Carlton of Oklahoma City and Michelle Hayes of Oklahoma City; sister, Mildred Carwile of Purcell, OK; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
