Ruby Irene Gibson, 88, a long time resident of OKC/Warr Acres, passed away on May 12, 2010, in Houston, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for Mon., May 17, 10:30am at the First Baptist Church of Bethany, OK. Ruby was born Sept. 14, 1921 in Stonewall, OK to William S. and Linnie (Riggs) Sullivan. She grew up around Stonewall and Byars, OK. In 1941, she married George A. Gibson. The couple moved to OKC in 1942. Through the years Ruby worked at Sears, and later Macklanburg Duncan, where she retired in 1986. She enjoyed being with family and friends, gardening, quilting and church activities. She is survived by her two children, Dale Gibson and wife Violet of Sugar Land, TX, Lea (Oletha) Hankins and husband John of Arkansas City, KS; grandchildren Cindy Rollins and husband Jay, Allen Gibson and wife Beth, Sean Hankins and wife Amy, Allen Hankins, Scott Hankins and wife Amy; great-grandchildren Caitlyn Rollins, Carson Rollins, Grant Gibson, Claire Gibson, Sadie Hankins and Hope Hankins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Gibson; twin granddaughters Jennifer and Michelle Hankins; sisters Leota Young, Mildred Schananbarger; and brothers Lester and Andrew Sullivan. A memorial has been established at the First Baptist Church of Bethany or you may donate to your favorite charity.
