Ruby Rosa Bomhoff died peacefully on August 18, 2016, at the age of 93 in Oklahoma City, OK. Ruby was born in Eakly, OK on Feb.20, 1923, to Ray and Viola (McCully) Rexroat. Her family moved to Kingfisher, OK in 1925 where she graduated from Kingfisher High School. She married Glenn Bomhoff of Okarche, OK on Christmas Day- Dec.25, 1941, and they celebrated 69 years of marriage. While Glenn was serving his country during World War II in the South Pacific, she and her sister, Goldie, worked in the offices at Boeing in Witchita, KS. After the war, she and Glenn moved to Oklahoma City and were long-time members of Messiah Lutheran Church. Ruby had a passion for travel which she passed down to her family. She and Glenn traveled to various countries in Europe, Hawaii and many other states. She and Glenn loved their two children, Nancy Anne and Steven Glenn. As a stay-at-home mom, she was involved in her childrens many activities. She always seemed to be at the ironing board, starching Steves wheat jeans and making sure Nancys clothes were perfectly pressed. In fact, the ironing board was always parked in the living room so that she could be with her family. Ruby was also an avid reader until she developed macular degeneration. She had a quick wit (no filter). After Nancy graduated from high school, Ruby went to work as a unit secretary at Baptist Medical Center for 15 years. In March, 2006, she and Glenn moved from their home on N.W. 63rd St. after having lived there 52 years to live with Nancy and her family. Glenn passed away at Nancy and Steves home on Nov. 30, 2010, as did Ruby. We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Karen Ross and Mercy At Home/Mercy Hospice. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, her brother, Vernie, sisters, Mary, Modena and Goldie. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, their son, Evan England; son Steve and wife Shirley of Corpus Christi, Texas, and their daughters, Jennifer and Charles Harmon of Sachse, Texas, and Jamie and Ralph Keill of Port Aransas, Texas. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Per Rubys request, there will be a private graveside service at Bethany Cemetery.
