Royal Orel Mac McPherson, 92, died October 19, 2008. He was born September 1, 1916 in Allen, Oklahoma to Augustus and Minerva Jane (Tyler) McPherson. After graduating high school he joined the CCCs and had the rank of Subaltern. Served in the Armys 836th Engineering Aviation Battalion in the Philippines during WWII. Returning home he graduated Hillss Business College and went to work for Sohio Petroleum, then attended OCU to obtain an accounting degree. He worked for Sohio for 36 years, retiring in 1984. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Larry Augustus McPherson, Esther Crumley, Grace Walker, Maude Gross, Una Battiste, Velma Flowers, Sylvia Jenkins, and Vera McPherson. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bernadine; brother-in-law John Koban; and many nieces and nephews. He loved to dance and did so until caring for his father-in-law took all his time. He was a very compassionate man who loved football and hidden word puzzles. Services will be Wednesday, October 22, 11:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Rose Hill Burial Park.
