Obituary

Dad always loved the sunshine on a warm day. On Thursday, February 22, 2024, as the sun was coming up for the day, our dad, Roy "Bud" H. Teehee, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior. He had been battling complications from Covid since December 3, 2023, and his body succumbed to pneumonia and was taken home to Heaven.

Although we wanted him here on earth, Dad was ready to go home to loved ones who had preceded him in death, his wife, Joyce Teehee; parents, Roy Hubert, Sr. and Lois Lyneil Teehee; brother, Dan Teehee; sister, Dixie Findley; brother-in-law, Paul Findley; and nephew, Rodger Orr.

Dad is survived by his wife of the home, Martha Teehee; daughters, Nancy Suzanne Teehee and Stephanie Diane Teehee; son, Christopher Grant Teehee (Angie Oden); stepdaughters, Traci Lucas and Kim Hamilton; stepson, Scott Lucas; granddaughter, Tyler (Lucas) Simmons; grandsons, Grant Hamilton, Cache Oden, and Koda Oden-Teehee; great-grandson, Lucas Simmons; his sister, Judy Orr (Fred); sister-in-law, Lucretia Teehee; and a multitude of cousins, neighbors and friends whom he loved dearly.

Dad was born in his family home in Coffeyville, Kansas on September 5, 1935, to Roy H. Teehee, Sr. and Lois (Rodgers) Teehee. Dad was very athletic and enjoyed playing sports such as basketball, baseball, football, and tennis. He was his children's biggest fan and spent hundreds of hours shooting hoops on the court he made and catching his three pitchers in the backyard. He opened his basketball court in the backyard to any neighborhood kid who wished to play, whether it be day or night.

In 1955, dad married our mom, Joyce Williamson, who was the love of his life. They met and married in Coffeyville, Kansas, then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 46 years until her passing on November 27, 2001.

Dad graduated high school from Field Kindley Memorial, then went on to graduate with an Associate's Degree from Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. As a newlywed, while also working 40 hours per week, he graduated with a Marketing Degree from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

His career started at the young age of 12 by bagging groceries and doing other odd jobs at the grocery store. He started mowing lawns at 14 years old, using a push mower which was comprised of blades around a cylinder. He only charged his clients $5 for his hard work. Dad started his 47-year retail career at Sears Roebuck and Company selling swamp coolers. He was paid on commission and had the ability to help his parents with grocery money by bringing home a $100 bill every month. He and his sister also made the actual down payment to buy the home his parents purchased. Throughout his career at Sears, dad worked on the sales floor and in the warehouse. He was the Manager of the Automotive Center in Tulsa, and also managed the store at Shepherd Mall in Oklahoma City. He eventually served as Operations Superintendent of the store at Southwest 44th and Western in Oklahoma City. Dad enjoyed his career at Sears, and he created and maintained lifelong friendships with his employees.

After he retired from Sears, Dad sold real estate for Bob Linn and Associates. Dad was passionate about selling real estate as he loved meeting people and matching them with a home that suited them. Dad won the International Sterling Society "Multi-Million Dollar Producer" Award for several years.

During this time, Dad met and married the second love of his life, Martha Lucas. They just celebrated 20 years of marriage on Valentine's Day of this year. Dad and Martha were very involved with Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and loved their "Get Real" Sunday School class.

Dad served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 9 years. He was also involved in community service with the Civitan's Club in Tulsa, serving as President. Dad also served others by providing food for families struggling at the holidays. He was a good neighbor to those on his street helping widows with fix-it projects around the house and mowing their lawns. He also opened up his driveway, and front and back yard for kids to play and have fun.

Dad traveled across the country to watch softball and baseball games his children would participate in and ended up making family vacations out of the trips. He enjoyed watching his 3 kids and grandkids play sports and not only made it to every ballgame but would invite friends and colleagues to their games too. Win or lose, he was always a proud Papa!
