Roy passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 20th in Warr Acres, OK at the age of 77. Thank you to the staff at Valir Hospice for helping our family during this difficult time. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Demoia Smith Knowles; children, Mark Knowles and wife Merry, Lana Guy, and Matt Knowles and wife Shauna, all of Oklahoma City; sisters, Norma Pemberton of Oklahoma City and Hazel Owens of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren, Cory Knowles and wife Kendra, Joshua Knowles and wife Currie, Miciah and Jonathan Guy, and Olivia and Ava Knowles; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Brinley and Braxton Knowles, and Carlie Zaloudik. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Newton Knowles and his mother, Cora Cotton Knowles, brother, Jim Knowles, and sisters, Evelyn Thompson, Wilma Reade and Irene Watts. Roy was born on May 19, 1938 in Marshall, Arkansas to Frank and Cora Knowles. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Demoia Smith, in 1956. After moving to Wichita, KS, Roy began working for Boeing. After 5 years, he moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Tinker AFB where he eventually retired. After his retirement, we were blessed to have Roy in a 2nd career as our driver at the family business, spending much quality time with him.
