Roy Alvin Baumgartner went home on 20 April, 2011 after fighting a battle with Alzheimer's disease. The only son of John Uhrich and Luella Viola Buamgartner, Roy was born 17 June, 1924. Roy's grandfather first arrived in the U.S.A. in 1859 from Bern, Switzerland to fight in the Union Army. Roy's family were successful Ranchers in Western Oklahoma. One of his aides to the WWII peacemaking effort was "Grow Food for Defense". Roy and his beloved wife Eula Mae were married 9 May, 1950 and lived in North Oklahoma City. In addition to Agribusiness, he was a self-employed Real Estate/Insurance Agent. He was a gifted musician and humorist. Roy carried his infant and toddler daughters into their OKC church in his arms in 1957, where he served as a deacon for decades. "Junior" was predeceased by his parents and only sister, Dolores. He is survived by his precious wife, Eula Mae; daughter Rhonda and her husband Dr. Malahy; grandsons Kirk, Michael, Kevin and their wives; daughter Deborah-Rosa Baumgartner, Art History Prof in Western Europe; and countless friends. Roy requested all gifts be sent to the Village Baptist Church Music Program, or to the Sacred Music Program of your choice. Memorial services will be Friday, April 22, 11:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
