Obituary

Ronald Lee Stewart Sr. "Ronnie", longtime resident of Kingfisher, OK, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Mercy Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was 73 years old. Ronnie was born March 15, 1942 in Comanche, OK to M.L. (Sandy) Stewart Sr. and Hazel (Parks) Stewart. He was baptized in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Owens Prairie, OK. He grew up in Marlow, OK and served in the Oklahoma National Guard after graduating from Marlow High School. He made his career in the oilfield which brought him to Kingfisher in 1970. He proudly worked for A&P Drilling and Briscoe Drilling and retired from C.M.I. Corp. in 2007. Ronnie married Sue (Jones) Stewart on May 25, 1992. They would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary the day Ronnie passed. Ronnie was known as an avid sports fan totally devoted to the Chicago Cubs. If the Cubs weren't playing he loved filling his time playing dominos with his brothers, sisters, kids, grandkids or anyone else who would sit down to play. He also enjoyed reading and would often spend time in the Kingfisher Memorial Library, especially on Tuesdays, when the new books came in. He read everything from Westerns to Spy Novels to Detective Mysteries. Survivors include Ronnie's wife, Sue, of the home; children, Ronnie Stewart Jr. and wife Dorinda of Oklahoma City, OK, Matt Stewart and wife Jennifer of Fort Cobb, OK, Kelly McDaniel and husband Darin of Oklahoma City, OK, Tammy Ray of Oklahoma City, OK, Leigh Ann Vaughn and husband Mike of Bethany, OK; grandchildren, Caleb Stewart, Cameron Stewart, Audrey Stevens, Breanna Schrupp and husband Nick, Hayle Savage, Jordan Savage, Kendall Ray, and Chasidy Pitcher and husband Damiano; great-grandchildren, Milo Pitcher and Amelia Rangel; siblings, Gayle Selby and husband Jim of Duncan, OK, June Wells of Broken Arrow, OK, Sandra Bishop and husband Dave of Mustang, OK, M.L. Stewart Jr. of Duncan, OK, and Terry Stewart and wife Reba of Pikeville, TN. Also survived by Martha Logsdon, mother of Ronnie Jr. and Matt, as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Hazel Stewart. Ronnie was a hardworking man who provided for his family no matter the sacrifice. His caring spirit and quiet sense of humor will be forever missed. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 30, at the Mercer-Adams Funeral Chapel, 3925 N.
