Rollin R. Gilliland, 72, of Oklahoma City, went to be with his Lord on June 14, 2013. He was born February 14, 1941 to Lawrence R. and Helen Moore Gilliland in Lone Elm, Kansas. He graduated from Kincaid High School in KS, completed an Associate's degree at Iola Community College in Iola, KS and later earned a BA degree from Bethany Nazarene College (SNU) Bethany, OK in 1963. He enjoyed a long career at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS as the campus locksmith, retiring in 2002. Rollin was best known as the greatest Safe Technician in the country and a highly respected mentor & instructor in the field. He had a wide variety of interests - flying, sky-diving, scuba-diving and restoring military jeeps. He was a long time member of the Missouri-Kansas Locksmith Association and SAVTA (Safe & Vault Technicians Association). Moving to Oklahoma City in 2010, he was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 50 years, Margaret Gilliland; sister, Juanita Williams (Harold) of Leroy, KS; nephews, Michael and Danny Williams of Mineral, VA; and a special niece, Jessica Blackmon of Idaho Falls, ID. He leaves behind a host of special relatives and friends. Services will be Wednesday, June 19th at 10:00am at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18th, 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe, KS and Southern Nazarene University, Bethany OK for student scholarships as well as the Parkinson's Association of Oklahoma.
