Roger Joseph Picard was born on July 23, 1944 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to the late Romeo and Rita Picard. He is the husband of the late Mary Beth McKenna Picard. He is survived by his daughter, Rosemarie Picard, two sons, Brian Picard and his wife Catherine, and Mark Picard. He has 5 grandchildren, Hunter, Kaitlyn and Olivia Picard and Zachary and Jacob Qubain. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Picard of RI, Rene Picard of MA, and a sister, Rachel Picard Parent of RI. He also leaves behind his dear, longtime loyal friend, Joyce Ann Boyd. He moved to Oklahoma in 1964 to join the Brothers of St Joseph Monastery that was responsible for the upkeep and services at Resurrection Cemetery. When the monastery closed, he later married Mary Beth McKenna on June 21st, 1972. They were married for 22 years prior to her passing in 1994. He became the General Manager of Resurrection Cemetery. Roger was considered by many to be an old world gentleman of strong faith and of a Christian upbringing. Many people will remember him for his caring and kindness in dealing with families when he was manager at Resurrection Cemetery. His work there was a true ministry for Roger. After losing his wife, he continued his ministry by volunteering at Pets and People caring for shelter pets, and for Projects Benefit Volunteer, Central Oklahoma RSVP, a nonprofit organization helping those in need. The family wishes to thank Joyce Ann Boyd , Wayne Burtcher, and John Schmitz for the years of their loyal friendship. Services will be Wednesday, June 10, 2:00pm at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel with entombment to follow.
