Roger Lynn Gibbons, 77, died August 20, 2015. He was born January 28, 1938 in Claude, TX to Ernest and Eunice (Rhyne) Gibbons. He married Beverly Jeanne Carlson, August 8, 1959. He was an active pastor and church planter for 53 years. He served as pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church in OKC for over 20 years. In his last ten years, he planted new churches in Brainerd and St. Paul, MN and Fargo, ND. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Ernest; sister, Eileen Reynolds; and great-granddaughter, Bryanne Hurry-Gellenbeck. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly; mother, Eunice Gibbons; daughters, Joy Buchanan, Karin Hurry, Jeanne Valois and husband Marc; sons, Timothy Gibbons and wife Tamara, Kirk Gibbons and wife Melissa; sisters, Sharon Sawtelle and husband Gene, Kay Savage; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday, 2-9pm, with family present from 6-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be 1:00pm, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Heritage Presbyterian Church with interment in Yukon Cemetery.
