Roger A. Horne went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on May 15, 2010. He was born October 27, 1941 to Woodrow W. and Louella Smith Horne in Okemah, Oklahoma. He came to know Christ over 35 years ago and since then has dedicated his ministry to teaching 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School, including his daughters and grandson. He loved music and singing in the choir. He always said that he loved to make a joyful noise. He is survived by his wife Rose; daughters Shelly Hatch and husband Sargent, Andrea Horne, and Christy Schroeder and husband Cory; sister Sandy Shook and husband Charles; brother Bob Horne and wife Suzanne; mother-in-law Marie Matela; grandson Nathan Holliday; and granddaughter Madison Schroeder. He was a loving, caring husband and father. We will always remember him for his generous heart and willingness to lend a helping hand. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 19, 10:00 a.m. at Putnam City Baptist Church with interment in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Childrens Ministry of Putnam City Baptist Church.
