Roger Lee
Boydstun
Aug 21, 1964 — Mar 11, 2026
Roger Lee Boydstun, 61, passed away March 11, 2026, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born August 21, 1964, in Stillwater, OK to Donnel and Ellen (Lilly) Boydstun. He was a graduate of Perkins-Tryon High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Electronics Engineering Technology and a Master's degree in Computer Science in 1987 and 1997, respectively, from Oklahoma State University.
Roger enjoyed a successful career as an Embedded Systems Software Engineer, and was a holder of 5 U.S. patents for his inventions. His interests in technology inspired his extracurricular hobbies in computer graphics, drawing, and photography. He eagerly extended hospitality to others, loving to cook and host gatherings of friends and co-workers. In recent years, he developed an interest in writing fiction and was three months from completing his first science-fiction novel at the time of his passing. Above all, Roger was a lover of all animals, especially his white Labrador Retriever, Frosty. When they were on walks together at the park or neighborhood, they never met a stranger.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved parents, and his sister Donna Lynn Soutee. He is survived by his partner, Russell Kaake (with son, Spencer Kaake-Chittick); nephews, Matt (and Kamille) Soutee and Eric (and Kayla) Soutee; niece, Erin (and Chase) Hunter; and brother-in-law, William Soutee; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be missed by his wide circle of friends spanning the entire U.S. and the Netherlands.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel in Bethany, OK.
