Rodney Earl Nelson, 58, died February 20, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born December 17, 1964 in Grand Island, Nebraska. He married Nancy Phillips on February 16, 1984 in Oklahoma City. Rodney was a carpenter and subcontractor in commercial and residential construction. He served as a Ward IV Councilman as well as Planning Commissioner for the City of Warr Acres. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, beekeeping, and tinkering with anything. Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; stepfather, Carm Narde; father-in-law, James Paul Phillips; and nephew, Michael Paske. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Nancy; his son, Zachary; mother, Sonja Narde; brothers, Jay Nelson and wife Julie, and Steven Nelson and wife Andrea; sister, Kerri Hudson and husband Paul; sister-in-law, Linda Bowling and husband Ray; brothers-in-law, Paul Phillips and wife Susan, Jim Phillips and wife Peggy, and Riley Green and wife Becca; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kathy Phillips. Services will be Saturday, February 25, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany with interment in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. .
