Obituary

On September 14, Bob walked tall and straight with no cane or pain to the Heavenly Reunion he was promised by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bob was born to Irvin and Virginia (Bryan) Usher in Oklahoma City on October 24, 1950. He was a life-long member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and attended Putnam City Schools. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1969 and served in Vietnam. He later transferred to the US Marine Reserves until 1975. Bob worked alongside his father, acquiring skills of a carpenter and eventually started his own business managing rough-in carpenter crews and building homes for several homebuilders in Oklahoma. His love for airplanes led him to become an aircraft mechanic and he worked for Aero Commander at Wiley Post airport in Bethany. Bob was married to Ronita Hayes Usher for 36 years until her death in 2016. Bob had a huge void in his life but had his loving dog "Choc" whom he adored, as well as his lifelong friends and Marine brothers who cared deeply for him. Bob is survived by his brother, Scott Usher of Oklahoma City; sister, Susan Holliday of Edmond; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as numerous cousins who will forever miss and love his kind spirit. Thank you to the Oakwood Springs facility in Oklahoma City and to Dr. "Q" who believed in Bob and trusted his home care and daily encouragement through his friend Andy Barthel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans Corner, 3805 SE 44th Street, Newcastle, OK, 73065. Memorial Service Mercer-Adams Chapel Saturday, September 29, 2018 1:00 PM 3925 N.
