Robert Delwyn Troutman, of Bethany, OK, went to be with his Lord on April 24, 2011. He was born on May 6, 1923 in Shamrock, OK to Robert Luther and Stella Mae (Bowen) Troutman, and spent his growing up years in Oklahoma and Arkansas. He earned degrees from Bethany-Peniel College, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He married Wilma Mae Haley, of Roswell, NM on August 1, 1947. After some time in Oklahoma and New Mexico, Robert and Wilma spent 40 years together in Kansas City, MO. Robert served as associate pastor in Roswell, NM and Kansas City, MO and was ordained an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1954. From 1953 until his retirement in 1991, he served at Nazarene Headquarters as editor of various Sunday School publications. He also occasionally taught Christian Education courses at Nazarene Theological Seminary. Upon retirement, Robert and Wilma moved to Bethany, OK. They were both members of OKC First Church of the Nazarene. Wilma preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2002. Robert is survived by his two sons, Steven Robert Troutman, of Bethany, OK, and Philip H. Troutman (and wife Paula), of Wilmore, KY; two grandsons, Nathaniel Philip Troutman (and wife Megan), and Christopher Paul Troutman; and one sister, Mrs. Imogene Wood, of Madill, OK. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at OKC First Church of the Nazarene, followed by interment in Bethany Cemetery.
