Robert Alexander
Supplee
Aug 19, 1935 — Oct 31, 2025
Robert Alexander Supplee, 90, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025.
Born and raised in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, on August 19, 1935, Bob lived a life shaped by curiosity, determination, laughter and a deep love of family and open spaces. His 38-year career as an air traffic controller took him throughout the Midwest, where he built a reputation for steadiness, precision, and calm under pressure. He settled in Oklahoma City upon his retirement to live with his caring and loving wife, Beverly Supplee.
In OKC, Bob and Beverly created a home grounded in faith, friendship, and community. Bob was a dedicated member of St. Luke's Methodist Church, where he spent nearly three decades lending a hand wherever needed. He valued the friendships he built there and the sense of purpose the community gave him. Enthusiastic supporters of the Oklahoma Sooner women's basketball team, Bob and Beverly rarely missed a game. They took great pride in cheering on the Sooners, sharing in the team's energy and good spirit the way they shared everything - fully, proudly, and with wholehearted enthusiasm. Bob also loved everything about NASCAR where he traveled to races across the country. This sport is a perfect blend for his mechanic's mind and racing heart.
Bob was passionate about four-wheel-drive vehicles and turned that passion into a small business, Supplee 4WD Enterprises, which he proudly operated for 40 years. Among his most cherished possessions was his 1966 Willys CJ5 Jeep, Old Pink, which the family often joked was his fifth child and sometimes the one he pampered the most. Bob and his late wife, Gloria, led their family on numerous trips to the mountains of Colorado and the canyons of Utah, "jeeping" across rugged landscapes and instilling in their family a lifelong love of travel, nature, and exploration.
Bob had a favorite saying whenever he faced an obstacle or challenge: "That's no hill for a climber." It was, in the literal sense, a reference to the rugged terrain he loved exploring on his 4x4 adventures, but it was also the way he lived his life. With optimism, perseverance, and a deep belief that any difficulty could be met with courage and grit, Bob modeled resilience for everyone around him.
Bob's sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts, matched only by his quick wit and talent for rhyme. He wrote limericks for birthdays, retirements, and any occasion that deserved to be celebrated. Some were hilarious, some were unexpectedly tender, but all of them carried his unmistakable voice. Bob had a way of honoring people in verse, capturing who they were with warmth and humor that made every tribute feel personal, cherished and just right for the moment.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly Supplee; his children, Serena Supplee, Craig Supplee, Tracey Supplee, and Kurt Supplee; his sister, Emmee Hanna; and grandchildren, Laurel Supplee, Campbell Supplee, Alani Supplee Pacheco and Leroy Supplee Pacheco. Bob's legacy lives on in the memories, stories, and traditions he created with them.
A special thank you to Bob's caregivers, Ashlynn, Tara and Angelina, for the beautiful way they took care of him.
Bob Supplee will be remembered with love, gratitude, admiration and a smile by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2:00pm, at Mercer-Adams Chapel. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed on this obituary page.
