He spent his childhood years growing up in Cherryvale, Kansas. He learned to play the guitar at a young age and continued to play throughout his life. He began his career as a lineman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. With his promotions within the company, the family lived in Chanute, Wichita, Independence, Neodesha, El Dorado, Arkansas City and back to Independence and then to Coffeyville, Kansas where he retired as Wire Chief over 23 towns. Retirement was spent in St. David, Arizona before moving back to Oklahoma City in August of 2015 to be closer to family.
