Robert (Bob) Forsythe Reed passed from his earthly home on July 9, 2021. He was born January 23, 1937 in Garden City, Kansas to Robert Bryden Reed and Shirley Forsythe Reed. The family moved to San Angelo, Texas in the 1940s.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Loren and Mike Reed. He is survived by his wife, Melva McMurray Reed of 34 years; his brother, Dr. Scott Reed and wife Donna of Georgetown, Texas; his sister-in-law, Jean Reed of San Angelo, Texas; his 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Robert was an amazing father, grandfather, friend, and mentor to many.
He loved golf and flying. Being an OU and Texas grad, he was divided as who to support (football). He received his Masters of Architecture at the University of Texas. He enjoyed a successful career in Architectural design and being in the field. He designed many churches in Oklahoma, including St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and First Church of the Servant. He also designed many unique homes in Quail Creek including Taylor House. Several of his projects have been featured in Architectural Digest, Better Homes & Gardens, and Builder magazine. He was involved in the early development of Brewer Carpet, Bob Mills, Mathis Brothers, Hefner Lake project, Blacketer restaurants of Oklahoma & Chicago, several OKC fire stations, High Point Condos on Monkey Island, and many others.
No services will be held. The family requests donations to the Dementia/Alzheimers Association.
The family also gives their heartfelt thanks to Kathrine Wiley for her unwavering support through Roberts illness. The family wants to thank Carter Hospice, Roxanna and Janice, for their professionalism and loving care.
