Robert Lee Murphy, 98, died on Friday, September 17, 2021 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on January 16, 1923, in Drumright, Oklahoma to James Wesley Murphy and Etta Mae Shackelford Murphy. He married Dovie Lois Loman on May 31, 1953. Robert retired from Western Electric after 25 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He enjoyed doing precision mechanics. He was a devoted husband and then a single parent after losing his wife in 1971. He enjoyed playing games with his seven grandchildren. He graduated from Drumright High School and entered the military to serve in World War 2. He was always a hardworking, loving, faithful, and generous man. He is preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and his dearly loved wife, Dovie Murphy. Survivors include two children: a son, Danny Murphy of Norman, OK and a daughter, Mary Burke of Oklahoma City, OK, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
