Obituary

Known as "Bob" by his friends and "Robert" by his family, he was born to Jack & Hattie (Osburn) Fuller May 8, 1933 in Dalhart, Texas. Bob grew up in San Antonio, Texas where he graduated from Brackenridge High School. There he met his high school sweetheart, Marjoria Ann Moore. They wed on August 4, 1952. Shortly thereafter, Bob joined the military, serving in the US Air Force during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Guam. When he returned from the service, Bob & Marjoria lived in Delaware. As soon as he was discharged, they returned to Texas where they were soon blessed with the arrival of the first of 2 children, Robert Douglas "Doug." Before long, they were joined by another son, Mark Anthony. While in Texas, Bob worked as an electrician for Lone Star Brewery. In 1966, the Fuller family moved from San Antonio to Oklahoma City. The family became members of St. John's United Methodist Church where Bob and Marjoria served in many capacities. Bob received his Bachelors of Science in Business from Oklahoma City University. In 1969 he began working for the YMCA as the Metropolitan Engineer. He retired from the YMCA in 1993. After his retirement, Bob became even busier. Bob had a passion for serving and ministering. He was a member of many service organizations. He served on MAPS I (Metropolitan Area Projects) committee, and the YMCA Camp Classen Council. He also served as President for the Optimist club, he was a member of the board for the Dale Rogers Training Center. He worked tirelessly preparing over 100,000 meals for the homeless and impoverished people of Oklahoma City through McKey and New Journey ministries. In 1997, after 45 years of marriage, his beloved Marjoria passed away. A short time later, Bob moved to Yukon, Oklahoma. There he added gardening to his list of hobbies. He kept his family, friends and neighbors well supplied in fresh produce from his gardens. In 2001, he married Eleanor Todd. Bob & Eleanor continued to work together in their volunteering and service projects. They travelled often and enjoyed spending time with their combined families. They were blessed to have 13 years of marriage together. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. Another of his life's passions was spending time fishing, hunting and dog training. Many of his vacations were planned around fishing & hunting trips. He treasured the times spent in these activities with family and friends. Many a fish caught was served at annual fish fries held at St. John's as fundraisers for the Methodist Men. Bob is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Todd) Fuller; his sons, Doug & wife Kathy, of Edmond, and Mark & wife Lori, of Bethany. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Fuller & wife Christy, of Edmond, Hannah (Fuller) Hankey and husband Seth, of Amorita, OK, Keri Fuller, of NYC, NY; great-grandchildren, Bekah & Jackson Fuller of Edmond; and his brother, Gerald R. Fuller of La Vernia, Texas. He is also survived by his extended family, David & Claudia Todd, Oklahoma City, OK, their children, Katie Valerie (Todd) & Mark Tabb, Knightstown, IN; & their children Bethany & Craig Mauger & son Samuel, Hannah & Andrew Brooks, daughter Violet; Sarah & Bryan Daniels, Yeabsera Tabb and Meskerem Tabb. Celebration of his life will be on Wednesday, August 19 at 2:00pm held at Mercer-Adams, 3925 N Asbury Ave., Bethany, OK 73008. Interment will be in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, August 18th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Mercer-Adams. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to send children who might not otherwise be able to afford it to Camp Classen.
