Robert James Ferguson, Sr. went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2013. He was born on September 14, 1926 in El Reno, OK to the late James E. and Eva Grace Ferguson. Bob enlisted in the Navy when he was 17 and served aboard the USS William D. Porter during WWII until the ship was attacked and sunk by a kamikaze plane. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he went to business school and had a long working career until he retired from Consolidated Freightways in 1990. Throughout his life he loved to go fishing. He once held the record for the largest black bass caught at Canton Lake. He was a proud member of the NRA and the VFW. He enjoyed photography and always seemed to have a camera strap around his neck everywhere he went. Bob loved to watch western movies. He also enjoyed watching OU Football and he could tell you stats from way back. Bob enjoyed life, but most of all he loved his family and always had a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his son, George David Ferguson; daughter, Nadine Womack; son, Jay Ferguson; and brother, Bill Ferguson. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Martha; son, Mike and Laura Ferguson; son Jimmy Ferguson; son, Robert Ferguson, Jr.; daughter, Kathey Brown and William Evans; son, Keith and Laverne Cowger; daughter, Linda and Patrick Warner; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
