His friends and family describe him as loyal, consistent, faithful and trustworthy. Bobs beautiful Mattie, his wife and best friend, met as teenagers, fell in love and were married on October 24, 1938. They have enjoyed 72 wonderful years of marriage. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings but one and his youngest son, Steven Gregory Cory. He is survived by his wife, Mattie, his sister, Margaret Marler, his sons, Robert D. He sang in a quartet that performed in church, on the radio and on television. He was a board member, a leader and a Sunday school teacher. He and Mattie were charter members and helped establish the Lakeview Park Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City. After serving in the Navy during WWII, Bob went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where he started sweeping parking lots and retired after 43 years from a management position. Bob served on the Bethany City Council, was a member and president of the school board and was an active member of the Bethany Kiwanis Club. The family will greet friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mercer-Adams with a service to celebrate his life at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, April 19, at 2:00 PM.
