Robert "Bob" Ernest Burrows was born on April 26, 1927 in Ada, OK. His parents were John Manson Burrows and Cora Ellen "Moore" Burrows. He was the oldest of five children. His siblings, Artice, J.W., George and Dwayne preceded him in death. Bob's father was a Baptist Evangelist. During a revival, Bob and his sister remained home with their Mother. On November 7, 1947, he married LaVerne Myrtle Suggs. They built their home in Oklahoma City and were married for 66 years. They were blessed with two sons, David and Gerald. Bob and LaVerne enjoyed spending time with their family and friends. Summer vacations included camping, boating and skiing at Oklahoma lakes and special trips to the New Mexico mountains. David and Gerald remember several incidents involving rattlesnakes and one large snapping turtle who attached itself to Bob! Bob was an accountant in Oklahoma City for over 40 years. Throughout his adult life he enjoyed serving in the music ministry in many Oklahoma churches. He was ordained as a deacon in 1973. Bob and LaVerne were very active at Putnam City Baptist Church where he participated in the Celebration Choir and Adult Ensemble.
