Robert "Bob" Lee
Schubert
Aug 20, 1935 — Jan 29, 2024
Robert Lee (Bob) Schubert went to be with our Lord on January 29, 2024. Bob was born on August 20, 1935 in Houston, TX to Johnny and Opal Schubert. He had two brothers, John and Edward, and two sisters, Elaine and Vera. Bob attended Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University) where he met the love of his life, Myra Jean Luginbyhl.
Bob had a wonderful operatic baritone voice, singing solos regularly at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene for weddings, funerals and special events. Bob grew up in the Houston First Church of the Nazarene with his family.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying many hunting trips in Texas with his sons, brothers and nephews. He was in charge of the Bethany Kiwanis Fishing Derby for many years at Lake Tenkiller. Bob's favorite thing was to camp out with his wife and sons in their camper many times a year.
Bob enjoyed cutting hair, owning his own barber shop in downtown Bethany for over 60 years. He was a man's man, taking great pride in keeping his yard in mint condition at his home on Glade Street where he and Myra resided for 46 years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Myra; two sons, Dr. Randall Schubert and Bryan Schubert; four grandchildren, Bronson Schubert (Ashley), Makenzie Barnes (Zack), Jacob Schubert (Taylor), Jennifer Schubert; ten great-grandchildren, Brylee, Bowen, Baker, Benaiah, Barlow, and Branch Schubert, Gunner Barnes, Weston, Sadie and Sutton Schubert; and many nephews and nieces.
