Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Davis, 98, of Oklahoma City, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 16, 2026. He was born on April 8, 1928, in Oklahoma City, to the late Albert and Opal Davis. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jean (Banks) Davis, his son, Robert Davis Jr., and his daughter, Debi Tesney.

A graduate of Capitol Hill High School, Bob later attended the University of Oklahoma. In 1955, he began a career of more than 30 years with the United States Postal Service. Starting as a mail carrier, he rose through the ranks to become a branch manager at several Oklahoma City locations. He was respected for his leadership, unwavering work ethic and dedication to serving others.

Bob also had a lifelong love of sports. He excelled at basketball, golf, and bowling and was an accomplished swimmer, remaining active and enthusiastic about physical activity throughout his life.

Faith was central to Bob's life. He and Jean worshiped for many years at Ridgecrest Methodist Church and later became devoted members of First Church of the Nazarene in Bethany.

Bob's family was the joy of his life. He is survived by his children, Deborah (Davis) Delhotal, Jim Davis, Teresa (Tesney) Hawkinson and Steven Tesney; his brothers, Wayne Davis and Phillip Davis; five grandchildren, Justin Hawkinson, Eric Hawkinson, Charles Delhotal, Deborah (Hawkinson) Fielder and Cleo Caplan-Tesney; nine great-grandchildren, Noah Hawkinson, Brentley Hawkinson, Zeke Hawkinson, Blythe Hawkinson, Isaac Hawkinson, Brightyn Hawkinson, Spencer Fielder, James Fielder and Charlie Delhotal.

Bob will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, deep faith, devotion to family, and the warmth and kindness he extended to others. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through the generations.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 10:00am in Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N. Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK.
