Obituary

Rita Ann Fenton, age 85, passed away on March 4, 2025 in Yukon, OK. She was born February 14, 1940 in Oklahoma City, OK. She married Ralph F. Fenton on April 21, 1957. Rita retired from Guymon Public Schools after 43 years of teaching, where she was a blessing to many students, parents and co-workers. To this day, the family is told how she made a huge difference in their lives.

Rita enjoyed going to estate sales and collecting Fenton glass. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir and began singing at the age of 6 when she sang on the radio. Rita loved playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.

She also enjoyed doing puzzles, along with crafts such as crocheting. She loved going to An Affair of the Heart with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always gave her all to everyone.

Rita graduated from Woodward High School and went on to get a Bachelor of Education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cleta Readnour; her son, Bruce Fenton; and her brother-in-law, Monte Fenton. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ralph F. Fenton; son, Craig Fenton of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Sheila Stanek and husband, Matt Stanek, of Norman, OK; brother, Gary Fenton and wife Brenda; sister-in-law, Kim Fenton; 12 grandchildren; and a large blessed number of great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Viewing will be Thursday, March 6 from 3-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK, with family present from 3-6pm. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025,10:00am, at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Graveside service will be Saturday, March 8,10:00am at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, OK.
