Richard Ray Stump passed on to be with the Lord on March 19, 2017. He was born on March 28, 1935 to Frank and Alma (Goodwin) Stump. He was raised from the early age of 2 by Frank and his second wife, Leota Stump, who he always knew as Mom. He received his B.A. from Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University), where he met the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Shelda Jean (Limbocker) Stump. He went on furthering his education at Central State University (now University of Central Oklahoma), earning two M.S. degrees. He spent his career in several different roles of education in the Putnam City and Western Heights school systems. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank, Leota, and Alma and his brothers, Earnest, Vernon, and Melvin. He is survived by his wife, Shelda; son, Kevin Stump and wife Peggy and their children, Shelby, Carrol, Blake and Dylan; son, Kris Stump and wife Connie and their children, Jacob and Ashley. During his last days, he said, "The church can make a difference in peoples lives and always for the good." In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Metroplex Church of the Nazarene or the Keith Day Endowment Fund, c/o Southern Nazarene University.
