Richard Nelson Reed, 42, died November 5, 2013. He was born September 21, 1971 in Murphysboro, IL to Donald and Edna (Nelson) Reed. He received his B.A. from Oklahoma Christian. An educator, he taught in Japan for 6 years, and the OK School of Science and Math for five. He loved KU basketball, reading and spending time outdoors. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Angela, he is survived by his brother, Doug and wife Jody; sisters, Linda, Becky and husband David; and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Thursday, noon-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral service will be Friday, November 8, 2:00pm at Bridgeway Church, OKC. Burial will be Tuesday, November 12, 10:00am in Assaria Cemetery, Assaria, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Societies.
