Richard L. (Dick) Stahl was born March 11, 1937 in Parsons, Kansas to Vernon C. and Harriet Doughman Rosenstahl. The family moved to Tulsa in 1941 where Dick attended elementary school, then to Oklahoma City in 1949 where Dick enrolled in Taft Junior High where he served as Editor of the Chief Justice and was selected "Boy of the Month" by the Exchange Club. At Classen High School, he was a member of the Blue Jacket Pep Club, elected "Typical Teen", Vice President of the Sophomore Class and President of the Junior Class. He was also selected to attend Boys State in 1954. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After service in the US Air Force, he joined the sales department of Texaco, Inc. in Oklahoma City in 1961. Hopeful of expanded horizons, he moved to Dallas in 1963 to join the advertising and public relations industry. Soon after, he met and married Patsy (Patty) Ruth Jarrell; their marriage produced a daughter, Tracy Karen and son, Charles David. The family moved to OKC in 1970, where he continued his marketing work, also serving several years as a real estate broker. A lifelong Methodist, Dick attended Chapel Hill United Methodist where he was active in programs supporting our troops. He was also a lifelong Republican and gave his support to candidates both local and national. Dick maintained his interest in the Kappa Sigma Chapter at OU and in 1998 took on the job of rebuilding the alumni base; he published several newsletters earning "Best of" honors from the national organization. He was the driving force behind the formation of the Gamma Kappa of Kappa Sigma Alumni Hall of Fame for which he served as the inaugural master of ceremonies. Wanting to stay close to his Classen High Class of '55 classmates he formed the Class of '55 and Friends Dinner Club in 2009 which has grown to over 30 members. Survivors include daughter Tracy Cain and husband Curtis of Oklahoma City, son David Stahl of Dallas, Texas, grandsons Sam Cain and Will Cain, and longtime companion Arlene Schlaeffer of OKC He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon C. and Harriet Rosenstahl, sister Harriet Wheeler, and uncle Vincent Rosenstahl. Funeral will be at 10 am, Saturday, August 25 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 2717 West Hefner Road.
